Mostly Spent The Day Eating

Here are brother and sister enjoying the peace of the back porch.

 

Today we took the phrase enjoying fellowship around a meal a little too literally! It started out innocently enough, a trip up to a community called Serenbe, a little southwest of Atlanta where we arrived just in time for lunch. This is advertised as a sustainable living community, the perfect place where you grow your own organic food, ride a horse along a tree canopied trail, socialize with your artist, writer, or business man neighbour, or listen outdoors to beautiful music. The houses were really interesting (and expensive compared to most places around here), as each one was completely different than the next one - just all sorts of different architecture.

 

The philosophy of the place is just a little New Age.

 

We had lunch (well more like a full course meal) at this eatery across the street called the Blue Eyed Daisy. Needless to say, the food was delicious.

 

These cows don't look so much in this picture, but they were the largest cows I've ever seen. Maybe they were a cross with buffalo, I don't know.

 

And these horses presented another peaceful country scene.

 

Here are the humans, lined up in front of a big barn of particularly interesting architecture.

 

We had to stop, of course to have an ice cream!

And this interesting plant was sitting there outside the ice cream place.

 

After the approximately hour drive back, we had to go out for dinner, of course, and we went out for Mexican food at a local place in the small neaby community of Locust Grove.
