After having a week of hot humid weather, today all of a sudden was much cooler and dry - and cloudy. We went for a bit of a walk before church. Here is a photo of one of several branches of the streams throughout the campground.
And we came across this guy on our walk. He was about three feet tall.
There are signs all over the campground like this, but we didn't see any to feed. And you'll be glad to know, Tanner didn't get eaten last night either.
We made it to church on time, but just barely. As usual, we got delayed by our GPS lady telling us to go the wrong way. We attended the Covenant Reformed OPC church in Fort Pierce, only 2 or 3 miles from where we were camping. I'm sure most of the people figured we were just those folk who only come to church on Christmas and Easter!
It is a nice church they have on beautiful grounds.
I hadn't decided where we were going after church. So I quickly looked up another county park a bit further north, and we drove up to Manatee Hammock Campground (N28 30 18.3, W80 46 59.6), which is on the water right across from the Kennedy Space Center on Cape Canaveral. They put us up near the road away from the water, because the water stank badly. It smelled just like sewage, but apparently was just rotting seaweed etc. It was ok up where we were.
This is a hightly zoomed photo across the water of (what I later looked up) the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center. This was built back during the days of Moon exploration, to assemble the Saturn Moon Rocket before launching. Then it was used for the Space Shuttle to mate the Shuttle to the solid rocket booster and fuel tanks. It is the largest single story building in the world, and the tallest building in the USA outside an urban area.
