Moved To The Other Side

We packed up first thing after breakfast, and drove across town to the Anza Borrego State Park. We were too early for the Visitor Center opening, so we decided we would hike down to the campground and have showers. It's a half mile walk down a concrete pathway.

By the time we got back the Visitor Center was open, and we toured through there and watched their 15 minute movie about the park. The visitor center is constructed in the side of a ridge, with gardens and parking lot over top.

We headed back into town to the hardware store to buy some screws to remount our closet hanger which fell down today. Of course we couldn't pass up another Mexican lunch at los Jilberto's before traveling out to the State Park again. By this time it was late enough in the day that we could get a spot in the campground. There was one campsite available for the night in the full hookup area, so we decided to splurge and took it. Not much more to report; we'll probably head out to a different area tomorrow. It seemed really hot this afternoon, partially because of the paved pad we were sitting on. We sat out under the stars in the evening with no wind this time. But the fire ring was so useless we didn't bother with a campfire.
