We’ve Been Here Before!

I’m getting senile, I guess.  We were around this campsite for a few hours, but then things started to seem familiar.  Finally it dawned on me that we’ve been at this place before!  And sure enough, if you go to the sidebar and click on 2016, then under March, if you go down to “Nice Quiet Remote…” and after that, “A Hike With...”, then you will read about our adventures 9 years ago at this same campground.  It was one of my most memorable times on our trips, and I didn’t remember being here before until now.

We got up to a perfectly clear blue sky this morning.

Finally, short sleeve weather.  Maybe not short shorts weather.

There were a few trains that went by yesterday, the last one maybe around 10pm, but none during the night that I know of, and a couple this morning before we left.  But they weren’t a bother.

Well, I would just as much liked to have stayed here for another day, but Doreen likes to go, go, go!  And so after lounging around, taking Harley for a play time,  and talking to a couple of the neighbours, we set off intending to go up to a campsite near Valley of Fire State Park west of Las Vegas.  But after getting through the south end of Las Vegas and out the other side, we ended up in the Lake Mead Recreational Area and had missed stopping for gas.  It turns out there are few, if any, gas stations ahead, so we quickly made a change of plans and went to a different campground.  We are now at Boulder Beach Campground (N36 02 08.3, W114 48 04.4), near the Hoover Dam.  We’ve been to this one before; it’s quite nice and only $10 with Doreen’s America’s Seniors Pass.
