There’s a huge area between us and the lake, ground that was one time under water but has been dry for years now that Lake Isabelle has dried up to a large extent. This is Harley’s playground. I took him out this morning to play and let him off his leash. That was a mistake because he wandered off away down to the lake and along the shore down near those other campers. After a good while, he finally came back, and I was able to corral him and bring him back inside.
After all that play, Harley wanted to go play again. “Won’t you let me go out and play again?”
The temperatures are getting quite nice, and we are in no hurry to get anywhere now. But we did do a little traveling today, going a little east, hoping eventually to get out of this California place with its high gas prices etc. We climbed up through a mountain pass above 5000 feet and down again (we’re at about 2500 feet both last night and tonight.). At certain elevations, we came across lots of Joshua Trees like in this picture.
But at the lower elevations we are definitely in the desert!
We planned to stay at an RV resort in Barstow. But when we got there, it was not too appealing, and Barstow itself was a bit of a dump. Doreen would have none of this, so after checking out a couple of other RV places, we finally landed here at a KOA campground (N34 54 11.4, W116 53 29.4), which was fine except for the expense. It was clothes washing and shower time tonight.

Sounds like you are settled in for the night. That Harley seems a little ‘impish’ and wants to keep you guessing if he is going to come back home 😂. Do you have wifi or something that will let you livestream Lighthouse or Parkside services tomorrow. So are you anywhere near your favourite Mexican restaurant that you have mentioned in the past. It appears wet weather is setting in here for a few days - so you are in the right place. Have a good night. Luv2both (T&S ❤️🙏🏼)
ReplyDeleteYes, we have WiFi here at the KOA. Only problem is checkout time is 11am. Hope we can still livestream it before we head out, but it will be close. Our favorite Mexican restaurant is further south in Borrego Springs. Maybe we will find another favorite! The weather here is great now, it’s 52F (11C) right now (8:45pm); it’s supposed to go up to 64F tomorrow.
