Stopped In To Kal Tire To Have Miss Travelaire's Flat Fixed

By this morning the air was completely gone out of the tire that was leaking yesterday.  So right away in the morning I got to work, jacked up Miss Travelaire's right rear end, and took the wheels off.  There was a stone deeply imbedded in the tire, which was hard to get out.

When Eric got up he finally got it out and for sure by this time there was a hole right through the tire.  Eric had a tire repair kit, and tried to fix it, but the hole was fairly large and an odd shape, and it still leaked.

So I ended up putting the spare tire on.  As you can see from all the pictures, I really had to work hard at all this.

After getting away at about 10am, and passing through Quesnel just a short way down the highway, we passed a Kal Tire shop, so I turned around and headed in there.  They were not very busy and were able to take Miss Travelaire in right away, and had the fat fixed in half an hour or so.  And the best part was that it cost me nothing because the tires were bought at Kal Tire in Victoria.  It did cost me $10 though, because I gave the nice fellow a little tip.

The fellow at Kal Tire told me to stop in at Kal Tire in Williams lake, which is a hundred km or so down the highway and have the torques checked on the wheel bolts.  We did stop in, but there was such a line up of people that I just left again and went out to Miss Travelaire and checked them myself with my own torque wrench!

It rained off and on all the way down to our campground on Green Lake, just south of 100 Mile House.  We camped at Sunset View Campground (N51 24 45.6, W121 11 44.1), which is one of several campgrounds of the Green Lake Provincial Park.  Eric & Sarah were far ahead of us because of our stop to get the flat fixed, and they went around to all the campgrounds before finding space at Sunset View.  It was a long way in from the highway to get to the campgrounds!

Finally, after being at the park a short while, the sun came out, and we all (except for Doreen) went for a swim.  It was so nice to swim with the sun shining brightly!  Here I am in the foreground, with Eli and Sarah further out.  It was nice relaxing in the sun after working so hard fixing my tire this morning :)

But, it still kept clouding over and raining off and on during the late afternoon and evening.  Eric lit a campfire, but no sooner had it burning nicely when it started raining again!  So it was out with the propane fire pit again!
