But Eric still had to get the part for the truck, and it turned out the Ford dealer downtown had it, and there was not another dealer with it west of Ontario! They drove their rig downtown and got the part, and then phoned us when they were ready to head to the ferries. We left home then, and low and behold we both arrived at the ferry terminal pretty well at the same time.
Once on the ferry, we all splurged and went to the buffet. It was so good and tasty!
After the ferry ride, we drove through Vancouver, with not so bad traffic, and up past Whistler. Just past Pemberton there is a hill which goes up and up and up. Just when you think it is leveling off, it goes up some more! Watching Miss Travelaire's transmission oil temperature, it peaked at well over 180 degrees, which is higher than one would like. The only other time her transmission oil got this hot was on this very same hill 13 years ago! Miss Travelaire needs to have her transmission oil changed when we get back. The campground we wanted to stay at was full, so we kept driving and the road got more and more windy and hilly, but finally we found a nice little forestry campground called Rogers Creek North (N50 31 55.0, W122 09 15.0), and we had two nice sites together. We were pretty relieved that we found a camping spot without driving for a couple more hours!
Eric & the kids and I went for a walk down by the rapidly flowing river. There were lots of stones to throw to try to skip across the water.
