One More Camp

We pulled out of Mount Robson Park, leaving behind the majestic Mount Robson, today with it's peak in full view with blue sky in the background. It is so nice to be back in BC where the roads are smooth!

For the first couple of hours, we traveled down through snow topped mountain scenery, but gradually, the mountains and the trees became smaller, but greener, until finally we were in the semi-arid region of the city of Kamloops, a little less green but more so than we've ever seen it.

We stopped at Lac Le Jeune Provincial Park just south of Kamloops. We were here before, in 2006, just after we bought Miss Travelaire. That was a time when the whole campground had been devastated by the pine beetle epidemic in BC, which totally obliterated the trees in the park. But now, you can see young pine trees everywhere covering the landscape.

Just after we arrived, it began to rain, and I quickly put out the awning before we had a tremendous downpour with a few thunders, so we could sit out and enjoy the relatively warm afternoon. But the rain although heavy lasted only a short time.
