Cruise Report

Here's a pictorial report on our cruise on the Ruby Princess: Los Angeles - At Sea - At Sea - Puerto Vallarta - Mazatlan - Cabo San Lucas - At Sea - Los Angeles (seven days)

 

 

Here we are high up on one of the upper decks

The large Piazza on the 5th, 6th, 7th level mid-ship. That's Doreen half way up the upper staircase.

 

Here's the bunch of us, just off the ship in Puerto Vallarta. Doreen, Dominic, Steve, Michelle, Andrew, and James and Grace in the carriage. I'm missing for some reason :)

Puerto Vallarta has a sort of inner harbour like Victoria. Different kind of birds though :)

 

I didn't seem to be in the picture taking mood in Mazatlan. But here is Cabo San Lucas as we returned to the ship which was anchored offshore.

 

This was our home for seven days, at anchor.

 

And that's us, back on board off Cabo.

The anchor has been pulled up, and we are leaving Cabo for Los Angeles.

 

Steve and Doreen, early this morning, waiting for our turn to leave the ship.

 

We were to drive Steve just a short couple of blocks over for him to rent a vehicle to take all his crowd to Universal Studios. But there was a hitch. Miss Travelaire was so stressed out, waiting and wondering if we were ever going to come back, that her battery was dead. A kind family came along and gave her a boost though, and she was feeling much better after that.

 

After dropping Steve off, Miss Travelaire drove until we didn't have any more Los Angeles traffic. When that happened, we found ourselves at Black Rock Canyon Campground, which is on the western end of Joshua Tree National Park, not far from Palm Springs. But this is a holiday weekend in the States, and as expected, it was all full up. So, we ended up going to some BLM lands (N34 10 24.7, W116 13 39.6) just a short distance to the north, and here we are camped with quite a few other loners at one of the most barren places you could possibly find. Doreen said "this looks like Afghanistan!"

 

It has nice sunsets though!
