The main activity for today, besides eating, was a visit to Avalon on Catalina island, which is about 40 miles off the coast of Los Angeles. We had to be ferried to shore, as the Carnival Inspiration was anchored out. You can see one of the boats here coming out of Avalon bringing people to the cruise ship.
Avalon is full of touristy things, and here is a typical cruise ship tourist shopping the shops. In the right of the picture is a golf cart, which is the main mode of transportation in Avalon.
The Carnival Inspiration is off in the distance beyond the sunbathers, swimmers, and yachts in the harbour.
In this place, even the sea gulls have their own bath towels.
Just a few more sights from around town. It really is a pretty place!
The rich and famous come out here in their yachts from Los Angeles. Where else is there to go from Los Angeles in a yacht?
On of the favorite tourist activities is this paragliding (or whatever you call it). There was just one boat after another pulling these things along.
I have to get this blog off, because we leave at 4:30, an hour from now, and that's the end of my AT&T connection for a couple of days.
