Finding Campgrounds on the Weekend

We got up this morning to clear blue skies and calm wind.  What a change from the last day or two.  I was back to short-sleeve shirts and shorts! 

Harley and I went down the trail to the beach this morning.  The trail itself was all like the beach sand which was a very very fine sand.  And Harley was in his prime running around and digging in the sand when we got to the beach.  It’s too bad cars and trucks have driven all over the beach and left their tracks.  By the time we got back to the campsite, Harley was pretty much worn out!  

It’s Friday, so looking up campgrounds and trying to find a place that is not all booked up was a chore.  We would have stayed where we were and enjoyed the beach if it were not the case that this campground is all booked up for the weekend.  Being near a high-density area of California means that half the population leaves to spend the weekend camping.  In any event, we found a campground at San Lorenze County Park in King City, California (N36 12 30.6, W121 09 01.5) and this park not only had spaces, but it was almost completely empty.  I’m not sure the reason for this because it is a reasonably nice campground.  However, trying to reserve a place on the internet at this park is pretty much completely impossible due to a terrible website.  There were comments about this by other campers in the reviews of the park.  So that may be the reason.

As I say, it’s a nice enough park, and if one wants, there are plenty of museums and old machinery on display here to view.  Here Miss Travelaire is all hooked up to her IV lines again. 😀  

And there are some interesting trees here too! 😂
