Cloudy, Rain, and Cold!

 So, yesterday Hidden Valley Campground in Joshua Tree National Park was ideal.  Warm and sunny, a beautiful location, and lots of activity to take in.  When we got up this morning, it was cloudy, cold and the wind was coming up.  We got away at 9:30 without knowing exactly where we were headed because we had no cell phone service to search for campgrounds.  But we just headed west through Victorville and on to Palmdale, and as the day progressed, it began to rain, and the cold got colder.  It’s hard to imagine this kind of weather in Southern California!  We finally ended up at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Palmdale.  They have an RV park that consists of a big paved parking lot with RV hookups.  It’s not cheap, but better than most places I looked at on the internet.  We are near Los Angeles ☹️!

When we arrived, there seemed to be no one around to check in.  But then a lady, the manager, drove up, and she said to go on the internet site to pay.  So, that I tried.  But the site was so convoluted that it seemed impossible to get from start to finish.  So the manager tried for me, and she couldn’t get through it either.  She then said just to follow her with our RV, and she’d take me over to the office, and I could pay there.  Well, the office was about a half a mile away!  We finally got settled in after driving all over the place and hooked Miss Travelaire up to all her IV lines.

So, here we are at the Antelope Valley RV Park (N34 43 32.4, W118 10 35.9).  And Miss Travelaire wants to add that she was much happier today traveling on nice two-lane roads all the way rather than those terrible Interstates!
