Visit with Mom

Today Doreen's sister Fay came over, and the three sisters and I went for a trip over to Quarryville to visit Mom.  Here are the three pretty girls, having just arrived at the home in Quarryville:

Mom was at her best.  Nina said she was so much better than she was even yesterday, so the Lord answered our prayers and Doreen had a great visit with her Mom.  Here we are to show you what a lovely looking 97 year old Doreen's Mom is:

The ride through the country roads (about 3/4 hour drive) was great too, and we went to lunch afterwards, and then to our favourite Mennonite small department store downtown.  I bought a hat and a shirt in that store years ago, wore the hat out until it was falling apart, and I still wear the shirt, although it is falling apart too.  I bought another nice shirt that I can wear for another half dozen years until our next visit!  Doreen, of course - the gifted shopper that she is, bought a pretty sweater that she can wear to keep warm around the campfire.

Afterwards we went for a walk through the neighbourhood around Nina's place.  What a beautiful place they live in, especially now with the trees exhibiting their fall colours:

Nina and Jim took us out to a fabulous dinner at a restaurant in Newark this evening - really tasty spare ribs!  Then after we got back home, they had to suffer through a bout of my banjo playing.  And, when they couldn't stand it anymore, Jim got out his tuba and tried rather unsuccessfully to drown me out!  (no - we made a fine banjo/tuba duo!)

  1. Hello Doreen and Robert:

We just got back from bridge. We slaughtered them twice, they slaughtered us once and we made our contracts 5 times but we will probably come out slaughtered!

We are so pleased that Doreen made it to see her mother especially and others in her family especially her brother Glen.

Hope your return trip is exciting but still nice and safe.

    With love: D&M.
