Super Walmart Again!

We continued on down I84 in the afternoon.  The traffic wasn't too bad, so we could cruise along at a comfortable 55-60mph most of the time.  However there were a couple of 10 or 15 mile stretches where there was road work and they had one lane blocked off.  In these stretches we had to speed up to 65 or a little more so we didn't have a big truck right on our tail.  It's funny because the speed limit on the interstates is 75, but it is reduced to 65 in the work zones.  But we had to speed up for the work zones - doesn't seem quite right.

We went to East Canyon State Park, which was a barren place in the desert with no trees.  It is at N40 55 29.4 W111 35 17.7.  It was warm when we arrived, with the sun shining brightly, but as soon as the sun went down it cooled off quickly.  And into the night it got down to 27F.  But we had electricity here, so we could run our electric heater and we were cozy warm during the night.

20 Oct Thursday

We got away just fine in the morning.  It is another sunny day - all our days so far have been.  We started down I84 headed for Route 40, a nice two lane road going through northern Colorado.  But when we got to the turnoff, it was closed with roadwork, and we ended up on I80 heading towards sourthern Wyoming.  There was no way to turn around for about 20 miles, so we decided to just keep on going and head east through Wyoming.  I80 turned out to be about as good as an interstate can be, not too much traffic, and smooth (a good many of the interstates are terribly bumpy because of the truck traffic).  We sailed along all afternoon but when it came to find camping places there basically were none open.  So we ended up at the Super Walmart again in Laramie!

After supper we drove a mile down the road to Starbucks, where I'm using their WiFi connection.  That's all the excitement for today - southern Wyoming is pretty boring, I'll tell you!
