Doreen was up at 4:30 AM this morning. She has been getting up early every day on this trip, but not quite this early! We both got up and went in to Walmart for a walk around, and then made our coffee, and had a leisurely breakfast. We only had a 3 mile trip to the ferry, so we had no trouble getting there on time!! The place doesn't open until 7 AM, and we were parked at the gate at 6:45. Thus, you see, Miss Travelaire is first in line staring at the open gap in the stern of the ferry.
The Coho is supposed to leave at 8:20, and at 8:20 exactly she slowly pulled away from the dock. As you can see, there was no problem getting a seat at this time of the year. The Strait of Juan de Fuca was calm as could be, so we didn't have any of that rolling motion associated with the Coho.
On the Victoria side, we had the same gal as a customs agent that we had a couple of years ago when I brought my new banjo across. She was more interested in Tanner staring at her with his loving eyes than she was in my banjo. And it was the same again. Tanner did his job really well, and it was just a half a minute and away we went. This is a far cry from the last couple of times we went the other way to Port Angeles and had them do a strip search of Miss Travelaire!
So we were home by 10:30 AM, and all was well at home, with Eric looking after things.
